Ford Fiesta XR2 mkll, 84 so tax & MOT exempt next year. 6 owners. Including myself for 6+ years. 90, 300 miles backed up by old MOT’s and warranted when I purchased from the NEC CCA auction in 2016. MOT to Sept 23. Original supplying dealer plates and rear screen sticker. All glass etched with the reg. number. Interior is in remarkable for its year with very little signs of wear.
Since my ownership there has been steady maintenance to bring it back to fully useable and safeguard its future. Items replaced include, cam belt, water pump, radiator, clutch kit, battery, 5 Yokohama tyres and professionally refurbished wheels plus a number of smaller items (hoses, ignition components etc.) and of course servicing. More recently a NOS tail gate release mechanism (rare as hens teeth), rocker cover gasket, gearbox reversing light switch plus coolant system flush & replacement. Lastly the engine valve stem oil seals have just been replaced and a new choke cable fitted.
With the exception of the cassette element of the period Ford radio/ cassette everything works even the period alarm! 2 keys available that operate all locks.
In addition to the above work listed receipts the car comes with mint owners handbook, operators guide, period sales brochure, old MOT certs and a couple of tax discs.
Current XROC member and 2022 valuation cert. by them for £12k. I owned one of these back in the day and everything about this car is like winding the clock back 40 years. Originality is to me this cars biggest appeal. So many cars I’ve seen “fully restored” either advertised or in the flesh have lost that. It will be sadly missed but I’m downsizing the collection and concentrating my time and resources on my XR3i cabby.
