This true “Ruby” is one of the last of the classic 900s. Purchased privately by the current owner in January 2021 it has had extensive work carried out, including the expert removal of an LPG conversion and repairs to the underbody and brakes. The engine now performs beautifully and the car handles as it should. The interior has been upgraded with new a headliner and the front seats have been sympathetically reupholstered with original zegna cloth inserts. A Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 DAB audio system has been installed providing connectivity to modern devices without spoiling the look of the original dash.
The wheels have been polished and re sprayed and new front tyres fitted.
Whilst K440JSA is in good condition it is not immaculate. There is a little rust apparent above the front wheel arches (see photos) and there is some scratching to the glass on the driver and passenger door windows. The automatic wing mirror adjuster on the passenger side is not working at the moment. In addition, there are minor chips to the paintwork on the bumpers and elsewhere as might be expected in a vehicle of this age. With an MoT through to April 2023 this Ruby is ready to drive away and be enjoyed. The “Ruby” was the final run in the UK of the classic 900 turbo. It is a rare car being #61 of the 150 released of which fewer than half are still thought to be running. Fitted with the “red box” APC unit the turbo performance of the Ruby was enhanced to give 185 bhp, in line with the Carlsson but without the body kit, making it a true wolf in sheep’s clothing. This example comes with a spare colour coded front and rear bumpers and a small quantity of the rare zegna cloth for the seat inserts.
It’s a reluctant sale but space and time constraints mean that it must go.
