Ducati 100cc Bevel Sport: 816 YUB

After many hours of soul searching I’ve decided that I need to thin out the gaggle of old bikes in my shed, this one’s first in the firing line, it’s a wrench!
Ducati 100cc Bevel, and yes, before you ask they did make a 100cc Monoalbero, this one is number 20 (Engine number * 250020*) its early lineage is defined by the pressed style front down tube, the swaged rear footrest supports and the bolt up rear frame section. There are tons of other bits that date it, the fuel taps, twist grip, Aprilia Catalux rear light (don’t ask, the cost was, erm significant) even the carburettor is rather unusual being a Dell UA19S..
The rims are steel Barruzzo with period correct CEAT 250/ 275 x 17 tyres, new of course!
I bought it many years ago and spent years rebuilding it, with much help from Ken Halliwell, who has always been an amazing source of the un-knowable. The rest of the build is plain to see, all sympathetic polish and minimal chroming by John at LMPS, paint by Paul Corker.
The seat is the original frame but was returned to the factory and rebuilt by the same breed of artisans that created it in the first place. The engine was a challenge, but now runs perfectly, not with the exhaust system fitted, didn’t want to blue the pipe! I have run it with a test tank, alternative exhaust and remote coil, it’s responsive, starts easily and feels great, but to be honest, and it pains me to admit it, but I didn’t strictly speaking build it to ride, but if a prospective buyer wanted to then I’d happily join up the dots.
Obviously all the cables, chain, bearings, valves etc were replaced, the speedo was prepped, it’s a long list, if you’re interested mail me and we can chat. I have a Photostat ‘Automobile Club D’Italia’ document from April 1962 indicating a change of ownership in 1958, I suspect it was first registered in 1957 but I have no way of knowing. I have the V5C in my possession.
It’s a lovely little thing and I’ll be sad to see it go, but I’m not getting any younger and it’s time to release a couple back into the wild. Price is £8500 and isn’t negotiable, sorry. Now £7500

It's small, but perfectly formed.
