1955 500 Twin.
Bought during "lockdown" from very long term (50+ years) owner with old card log book, MOTs and invoices for work done over the years.
Cosmetic restoration carried out due to hand-painted nature of tinware with mudguards, fork shrouds, casquette, tool boxes and air filter box professionally painted.
Top end overhauled with new (+20) rings, hone, valve springs, heads vapour blasted and new custom made solid copper gaskets. Rewired with new electronic regulator - dynamo charging OK.
Magneto oil seal failure and resultant poor sparks requires magneto overhaul - a change in circumstances means I cannot now carry out the work required and therefore the bike is offered for very reluctant sale. This is a rare bike and 500 Twins are seldom offered for sale, I had looked for one for some time before I was lucky enough to find this bike. Very tractable engine with pleasant exhaust note.
