For sale is my Mazda MX5 Mk1, Monza Special Edition 1. 6ltr manual. This car is in really nice condition overall for its age. It is a UK Specification car which is more desirable and slightly cheaper to insure for younger drivers. Mechanically, the car is fantastic and was kept by it’s last owner a garage mechanic for over 10yrs. No expense spared in maintaining all the usual service items, plus the brake discs were recently replaced. The car sounds amazing and starts up first time every time. MOT until August 2023 with no advisories, mileage is only 86k.
The body work is in good condition, there are a few minor scratches and blemishes to be expected for such an old car. But in my view, it looks great with no rust or issues with the sills. The car looks and feels modern on the road. The sills were welded a few years ago and are solid, this work was done to a good standard. The interior is nice and clean, with a Sony stereo, all original features and manual windows. The soft top roof is a mohair upgrade with a heated glass screen and this makes the car look very smart. The soft top is quick and easy to fold down and enjoy for the summer.
Tyres are like new all round with upgraded lightweight 15inch racing alloys. Being a Monza track edition car, these really suit the look and stance of the car. All boot items present, including spare wheel.
This is real driver’s car, non-power-steering model giving complete feel of the road and straight handling. The exhaust sounds amazing when started up, it has a racing feel but without the loud attention-seeking sound. The gearbox is solid with smooth shift changes, the engine pulls strong as soon as you move away in first gear. The engine bay is tidy, again no issues or funny tappet noises coming from the engine which can be a common issue on these models. In my opinion, the engine bay would benefit from a detail and being presented much better but unfortunately I do not have time due to other commitments.
