1952 MG TD.
After a 2 year nut and bolt restoration, the car is immaculate throughout, inside and out, as can be seen from the photos. The car has benefitted from a recent bare metal re-spray with all panels and exterior components carefully dismantled and reassembled after its paint.
The seats have been well restored and are firmly sprung and the carpets are all in good condition.
There is also a documented earlier restoration carried out by Naylor Brothers in 1988.
This is a genuine RHD UK model, and has spent the first 66 years of it's life within one family through three generations, and there is much documentation concerning this.
There is a comprehensive history file of the work carried out through the years, including MOTs going back to 1970 and some very early MG Car Club magazines.
The body strikes a fine balance between authenticity and recently fitted modern features such as indicators. There are some minor blemishes to the chromework, but these add to the authenticity, and have been left. The hood is original, and although there is a small tear, it can do its job if needed. There is a full set of side screens, all in good order.
All five wheels are in excellent condition, with classic Pirelli Cinturatos.
Both the engine and engine bay are as clean as the rest of the car. The engine and gearbox are in excellent working condition. The rear shock absorbers have been replaced with new modern telescopic type. Steering, brakes, suspension and instruments are all in good working order.
The TD is blessed with pre-war classic styling, but with rack and pinion steering and independent front suspension, giving, for it’s time, a very precise driving experience.
The current owner is a retired engineer with too many cars, so one has to go!
