For sale is my Oxford Green facelift BMW 728i with fairly rare pearlbeige two-tone interior, I haven't owned it for too long but did quite a bit of work in the last 5 months to tidy it up. It's an unmolested, straight car with relatively low miles, its by no means perfect being a '99 but probably better than most E38 I see come up for sale. The price is a fair reflection of the condition.
With the car being so original I replaced some of the typical failure points of the E38: the radiator, powersteering reservoir and hoses, cam position sensor, a few PDC sensors (although one of them still plays up once in a while), a tierod end (only advisory at the last MOT last month) and a few other things.
A few more are left for the new owner to sort (the signature E38 headliner sag or missing pixels, the latter I can have sorted for around 135 quid with lifetime warranty). The tyres all have good tread but aren't the freshest (since most people won't keep these wheels I don't think there was a point in changing them and add 400 quid to the asking price).
The car has the usual imperfections for its age, however it is remarkably rust free with the only bubbling being a small area behind the passenger rear arch. Brake and fuel lines look very clean underneath, there is also no sign of the tank leaking, both are common £££ items to sort on these cars. It accelerates, cruises and brakes without issues.
The car comes with a complete (!) orginal toolkit, the BMW torch, orginal phone in the center console, bookpack with some service history and all receipts for the work I have carried out.
Equipment includes all the usuals, including Cruise Control, Park Distance Control Front and Back, the aforemention car phone, power pulldown for the boot, electric memory seats etc.
Once again, this is a mostly orginal E38 which has received a few new parts recently. The price reflects the condition.
The car is located in Newcastle, cheap train and flight tickets from most places are available!It's a BMW E38 7-Series in the desireable Facelift shape powered by the by far easiest to live with/ most affordable engine choice. Any potential buyer will already know what makes these cars so special, finding a solid unmolested example for so little money will soon be a thing of the past. I own two of these cars and will always intend to keep at least one of them in my fleet, they are just such alround excellent cars with a timeless design many BMW fans fondly remember. This example will be a great starting point for whichever direction you intend to take it.
