Just prepared we have this beautiful 1952 Bedford O type tanker.
We have owned this truck for around 2 years and purchased her from a local collector with a view to convert her to transport classic cars and use her! However, plans have changed and we simply haven't had the time to carry out the conversions, and therefore she's up for sale to find her next custodian.
She's just benefitted from a basic recommission with the carb overhauled, distributor rebuilt and brakes bled and readjusted. She starts on the button and drives brilliantly. The odometer states just over 5k, and given her mechanical condition, I could well believe this to be true. She still has her PTO fitted along with some other components that would have operated a pump at the rear.
It is thought that the lorry was purchased by the forces and used as a tanker on an airfield in the mid 50's and subsequently sold off to a farmer who used it as a water bowser. Mr. Osborne then purchased it and carried out a basic cosmetic restoration.
She's a lovely lorry and great head turner, and drives very well, benefitting from sync or and additional 12hp over the earlier models.
She's serviced and ready to go for the show season!
