Description

Sadly, I need to part ways with this lovely Forester after 3. 5 years, as my family is growing (bigger!) and I need to say goodbye.

This car wants for nothing...

Overview:
- LOW TAX BRACKET!
- Next MOT due 08/ 12/ 2023
- Full service history
- Silver
- 2 previous owners - I am the 3rd owner
- Meticulously maintained by me for nearly 3. 5 years of ownership and is a very reliable car
- Everything works as it should and the car drives nice and tightly as it should
- Importantly, the rear suspension does not sag and has always been fine
- I also fitted a GROM bluetooth handsfree kit, so you can stream music through the factory stereo and take hands-free calls. Works with steering wheel controls (volume and track selection)
- Heated seats, steering controls, windows and cruise control all work as well (basically, everything works!)

Servicing:
- The car has only had 'full' services during my ownership (new sparks, oil, air/ oil/ pollen filters, engine flush, etc)
- I have pre-emptively repaired anything that needs doing
- The engine was "carbon cleaned" a couple of years ago and I have only run her on Super Unleaded
- I have not molested her with performance upgrades or remaps either
- This is a standard car with a strong engine and one that the new owner can drive with confidence and no concerns of potential bills (although, I would add a caveat that we all know something can go wrong at any time with any car, so I won't be responsible if it does).

In 2020 I gleaned servicing details from the Subaru dealership that originally sold the car and who had serviced it up to the 90k service interval, after which it was serviced at independent garages:
- 1st owner purchased the car on 09/ 08/ 2005
- 2nd owner bought it five years later on 06/ 07/ 2010
- I bought the car in Jan 2020
I would be happy to give the sheet of history that I put together for the next owner
- Lots of invoices (pictured) during my time of ownership, but the purchaser can have these for history so they know what has been done and when

Some of the things done under my care:

Recent:
- Full service - end of 2022
- New aircon compressor + aircon re-gas
- New auxiliary belt
- New front ball joints
- New front ARB drop links

Between 2020-2022:
- New motor and switches for driver door window (commonly fail due to older switches wearing so motor doesn't know when to stop and burns out) - genuine 'new' Subaru parts - these switches are particularly hard to get hold of 'new' - I had to ship mine from Australia! Has worked perfectly since.
- New floor mats
- New radiator
- OEM rear exhaust (seller upgraded his exhaust within a week of buying his new Forester back in 2008. It sat boxed in his garage till I bought it in 2020, so effectivey nearly new exhaust - it was mint when it arrived and still feels new now)
- 4 new coil packs in 2021 - £80 each!
- Fuel pressure regulator (old one seized so engine wouldn't start when it was hot - completely fixed by new regulator!)
- New fuel pump
- Windows tints by 'Pentagon' in Reading - they are excellent and do tints for Audi, Land Rover and other dealerships in Oxford/ Reading area, so it is a proper professional job that will last
- New window 'gaitors' for front door windows (old ones can split/ tear which causes front of windows to whistle... new gaitors sorted this)
- Also fixed the trim that snugs around the top of the door windows to reduce whistling around edges - made a huge difference too
- Sound deadening and insulation in all 4 doors, boot lid, boot floor and tyre well to reduce road noise and improve clarity and effectiveness of speakers
- 2 new front tyres (rears were new when I bought the car) - still about 5mm tread on all 4 tyres when checked recently
- Replacement engine undertray - excellent condition
- Front brake pads and discs (and rear pads)
- ARB bushes
- Replacement boot lock mechanism so the interior light now turns on when boot lid is opened
- Cambelt changed just before I bought the car (label pictured)
- Headlights professionally polished up and ceramic coated

Additional info:
- Will come with 2 keys
- Included are some bits and pieces like a new front grille badge, key fob batteries, interior LED bulbs, seat cover (upright) for driver seat as bolster slightly wornIn short, this car drives beautifully. Handles well on country lanes, is planted and smooth on the motorway and is comfortable around town.
The auto box is responsive and the 'sportshift' (tiptronic to anyone else) is excellent.
I would love this car to go to someone who will love her as much as I have andwho will maintain her so she continues to age gracefully.
I am open to sensible offers (£5, 200 ono), but I am also a reluctant seller with no incentive or need to sell quickly, so I would appreciate only serious buyers and respectful offers. Please bear in mind that this car has been priced with age, condition and mileage taken into account... Thank you for taking the time to read this advertisement!
