Description
Moto Guzzi V35 II, 1987
Registration number D394XTY
350cc, v-twin, shaft drive, electric start.
Very low original mileage of 17, 467.
Recent full service (New air filter, engine oil/ filter, gearbox oil, final drive oil, fork oil, new spark plugs and valve clearances checked).
Brakes have been overhauled (calipers fitted with titanium bleed nipples, rear master cylinder overhauled with a rebuild kit, new brake fluid).
Carburettors have been professionally ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt with new needles, float valves and gaskets. Fuel tank and hoses cleaned/ flushed.
I bought this bike from my father-in-law 10 years ago. He owned it for 24 years, buying it from its second owner in 1989.
When I bought the bike, I had a new back tyre fitted, then rode it 230 miles back home from Devon. The only fault with the bike was the clutch wasn’t working great, so I got a new one fitted. Due to other commitments, I stored the bike for 10 years in my dry garage (I put oil down the bores). It has recently been recommissioned.
Many new parts have been fitted recently, including battery (Yuasa), throttle cables, LED dashboard bulbs etc.
It passed its MOT in April with flying colours. I have since ridden it to a few local bike meets/ bike cafes (H-cafe, Box hill, Newlands corner, Loomies) clocking up about 220 miles.
It starts and rides great.
The only thing on my list which I haven’t had chance to get done (mechanic is too busy now the weather has improved) is getting the new points fitted (I have bought them, but just not had them fitted) and getting the timing checked.
It’s cheap to tax and insure.
Condition: It has a small dent in the tank and the side panels have faded to a different shade than the rest of the bike. The rear of the right hand side panel has some stress cracks. The rear mudguard has some rust spots. See photo’s. The bike has all the usual age-related marks/ corrosion as you would expect for being 36 years old. It’s in good overall condition and hasn’t been modified/ abused.
Some spares are included – new spark plugs (2 off), various cables, engine gaskets and wheel bearings, 2 sets of brake pads (EBC FA047), new points (2 off), factory workshop manual and original owners handbook.
My father-in-law fitted new ‘Busso’ (made in Italy) silencers and engine crash bars.
I can’t find the receipt for the new clutch (which cost around £600).
I have spent over £500 on the recent service/ overhaul. That is in parts alone (Gutsibits, Eurocarb etc), ie, not including the cost of the mechanic to do most of the work.
It is light weight and has a low seat height.
Both original keys (including the ‘folding’ one).
This would be a great starting point for a café racer (which was my original plan).
Test rides only with the cash in my hand.
The bike runs/ stops great.
I live in Wargrave, Berkshire. RG10 8BD
