this machine looks just like a genuine Black Shadow and is on the face of it is a Matching Engine & UFM number machine but the stampings are not original Vincent Factory ones; the crankcase is a later Holder one; the RFM is an original Factory stamping from a Rapide; we sold the machine to a regular customer of ours a couple of years ago who was made fully aware of the number issue and who merely had the bike as an 'ornament' so it has been unused for a period of time therefore whilst it runs and rides it does require fettling and general sorting before being pressed fully into service; it is around half the price of a 'proper' Shadow though; the engine was reputedly rebuilt by Bob Dunn but there is no documentary evidence to substantiate it, however it does run very well and sounds good; cosmetically a long way off perfect but smart & perfectly presentable with room for easy improvement; previously supplied by ourselves; more details, photos and video link on our website at: ventureclassics. com
