Volkswagen 1977 T2B 8 seater left hand drive factory microbus with sunroof. MOT and tax exempt great condition inside and out. This type 2 2Ltr fuel injected van was imported some 10 years ago from the sunshine state of California by a Warwickshire based VW specialist. We purchased it primarily for our family wedding business and it has served us well for the last nine years. The only reason we are selling him is because we are retiring. The current mileage is 81, 346 and is MOT'd until 27th September 2023.
We set out over the winter of 2013 on a plan of action to restore the van and in the process change the body colour to white over kansas beige plus protecting the underside of the van. All of the upholstery (cards, door cards and seats) have been re-apholstered to match the body colours with a beautiful diamond pattern with the seats being faced in leather. The headlining was also replaced and still looks brand new. Coming originally from the sunshine state the dash showed signs of slight cracking as a result of the heat, so we had it wrapped in black leather and it looks superb. Another really rare feature of this van is the factory fitted sliding moon roof above the passenger seats and makes for great fun for those that appreciate open air motoring.
The front seats are fitted with retractable seat belts and the floors are covered in hard wearing matting. The main passenger compartment is boarded out and covered in hard wearing vinyl.
Being finished to such a high standard it has been a massively popular part of our wedding business and has been booked by many a bride and groom, being quite rare in that it can seat 8 people. It is such a flexible van that is also perfect for transporting a family for days out too.
The bus has been maintained throughout by a local Warwickshire based VW specialist and when not is use stored in first class indoor storage.
It really is amazing tone able to transport up to 8 people, open the roof and enjoy the sun!
Haven't got all the history with it, but it rides really well, lots of smooth power from its 2ltr engine and 4 speed manual gearbox.
Overall the van is a great condition and we have a file full of pictures from 2013/ 14 when the van was completely restored. It has slight bubbling on a couple of the wheels.
