25 year old Jaguar XJ8 V8 with only 76400 miles and two previous owners. Very good condition throughout and solid underneath. The car was parked in a garage in 2010 with 71k miles and was recommissioned in 2020. I bought the car in April 20 to use as a weekend car and take to shows. The bodywork is in excellent condition apart from a small dent on the front edge of the bonnet. In November 2020 I took the car to Krown underseal and had the chassis and voids treated with a clear mist underseal so the metal could still be seen. The Krown employee highlighted two very small areas of rust which I had professionally treated at my garage (invoice available). I am happy to put the car up on ramps and provide any would be buyer a torch to have a good look underneath. Normally at this age the chassis rails, sills and wings are corroded but this XJ8 is solid. The engine is fantastic and pulls well with very smooth gear changes. I did notice a small coolant leak at the start of this year and it was decided it was either the thermostatic housing or the water pump - I decided to upgrade both items with the improved metal components and this cured the leak. There are no oil leaks, no rattles just a smooth Jaguar V8. The car has full Jaguar Service history in the service book with stamps on 6k, 12k, 24k, 36k, 45k, 57k, and I had it serviced at 73k at Guy Salmon, Northampton and a full vehicle check. The gearbox and transmission is also in excellent condition. The interior is like new and is in a fantastic condition with no wear at all on the leather. The original carpets and Jaguar mats are like new. The car comes with the original tool kit under the bonnet, two keys, two fobs and the green valet key. A full size 20 spoke alloy comes as standard under the boot floor. All the original documentation is with the car. Most Jaguars of this age suffer from the drooping headliner and my car was no different, however, a new headliner has just been fitted in the original oatmeal colour. I had two new tyres fitted on the rear 1500 miles ago. It has a current MOT until May 2024. As with any car of this age it has a few imperfections, there is a small dent on front of the bonnet (NS). The LCD display in the radio has blurred towards the bottom of the screen but does not affect the radio, cassette player or CD multi changer in the boot. The bodywork is in good condition with no rust in the normal places. I did replace the N/ S wing due to a small dent when I bought the car and had the new wing professionally sprayed the correct Sapphire blue, however, the paint has reacted in one place and has a tiny crack in the paint.
Overall, a solid, low mileage XJ8 in very good condition backed up with full service history. Genuine reason for sale as I have purchased an older Jaguar and I have no storage for this one. Very reluctant sale but someone will get a great car. I sourced this car due to the originality of the Jaguar. The previous owner bought a new Jaguar in 2010 and laid this one up in his garage as a spare! The fact it had all the original paperwork, all the keys, original dealer number plates and even the 2008 National Trust sticker in the window meant it was a small time warp Jaguar. In the three years of ownership I have increased the mileage from 71k to 76k and this has mainly been for weekends away and car shows.
