Finished in Westminster Blue, this Astra Expression is one of the run out models and being registered in March 1991, is one of the ‘newer’ ones left.
As it's a limited edition run-out model, the car benefits from a sunroof, central locking, and nothing else (little to go wrong though)! Lots of nostalgia guaranteed!
The car was put into storage in 2013 and I acquired the vehicle earlier this year, and the following work has been done:
Old fuel drained and new added in
New cambelt
New water pump
New spark plugs
Full service, including all fluids, fresh oils and filters
New radiator
New battery
New 12 months MOT
Condition
This car really is in good condition for a 22 year old car, it has just sailed through its MOT, it drives 100%. This is a great opportunity to own a piece of British 80s history, car is built to original spec.
It does have marks and scratches consummate with age, when Mr Potter caught it against his garage door a couple of times. One rear arch is starting to go, and the other also got caught on the door, so both could do with sorting (but have just gone through the MOT without mention).
The rest of the panels remain in original and untouched condition and make the car really stand out in its beautiful Westminster Blue metallic coachwork.
The interior is in superb condition, with the black dashboard in A1 condition, as are the seats and headlining (I don't think the rear seats have ever been used). Mr Charles Bray visited his local Vauxhall dealership at the end of February 1991 and placed an order for his new Astra limited edition, with sunroof. The car was duly delivered for 28 March and Mr Bray collected his brand new Astra from Cordwell Vauxhall in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
At three years later - 18 February 1994 - Mr Bray traded his Astra in for a new Mk3 Astra GLS. This Astra was then purchased by Mr Leonard Potter and he took it home to Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire.
All original handbooks are present, as is the stamped service book (first three are stamped) bill of sale from the original selling dealership, various literature including original brochure and supplying dealer licence plates and tax disc holder. Also has two keys.
The car runs and drives superbly and doesn't miss a beat and has a fresh MOT until May 2024.
