Beschreibung

1967 Mini Super
This car is a remarkable and rare vehicle. It is in very good original condition.
Stored carefully partially dismantled for some 45 years it’s a true time warp.
Over the last 8 months it has undergone a thorough careful and sympathetic mechanical and electrical recommissioning. Great care was taken to re-use the original hardware where possible.
This work has been by myself, I am a retired Professional Automotive Engineer having served apprenticeship at Lucas service in the 70s and been a lifelong Mini enthusiast, having owned many of these great cars over the years. It drives as it should, everything works as it should. It appears to be oil leak free at present. Looking for a new owner who will appreciate this car for what it is.
PLEASE VIEW THE CAR BEFORE COMMITTING TO PURCHASE IF POSSIBLE
It’s a long list but to sum up.
Car is MOT and is Tax Exempt in the UK but has a current MOT with no advisories. Note ; V5 IS AWAITED to be returned from DVLA from change of taxation class to HISTORIC. Mileage cannot be warranted but there’s evidence from 1972.

Modifications
Just 3
There’s evidence of an “SPQR”:remote gear shift having been fitted, some holes in the floor and a large hole in the floor are as far as I can see the only modification. It’s currently fitted with the magic wand gear-lever which was with the car, and the SPQR and cover is included with the sale. This was a popular mod on 850’s back in the 70’s.
It has a radio aerial and rear speaker but no radio was present so it remains with out.
Nylon Hydrolastic pipes fitted.
BODY WORK
I have deliberately not done anything at all with the paint except for giving it a hand polish with T Cut. It’s surprisingly good for an original for what is at least 50 year old paint job.
The idea being to show that car as it really is. Patina is key with this car.
The sills, floor pans, all appear original and sound. The car would benefit from a Waxoyl treatment but I decided not to do this in case a purchaser wanted to get the paint re done.
INTERIOR
Red PVC seats are worn a little and not surprisingly a little saggy but there’s no obvious holes or splits. Doors cards are good with origami pull handles.
Headliner is good but faded. Sun-visors present. 1967 Mini Super
This car is a remarkable and rare vehicle. It is in very good original condition having been carefully stored albeit partially dismantled for some 45years in the corner of a garage which was mainly used as a timber store.
The Engine and body numbers tie up with the Green Log Book.
The Lucas units ( Dynamo, starter, wiper, distributor, coil etc are date stamped ** 67.
It belonged to a neighbour of my friend’s grandparents and according to the anecdotal history, it was originally owned by the chap’s Mother as the second owner as documented by the original green log book. It was taken off the road in 1977 apparently to prepare it for the children to learn to drive in. The rolling body and its component’s were meticulously stored with the engine unit out, doors boot and bonnet removed. Glass, dash and most of the interior trim remained in place.
The rear subframe was removed and re painted and refitted. Hydrolastic system drained. There’s evidence that the gearbox and engine was probably overhauled, and the chap’s wife said he had that done professionally and in the parts boxes are used synchro’s bearings etc.. it was left as an unfinished project.
Fast forward to October 2022 and I was invited to inspect the car with a view to purchasing the car as the chap had developed an advanced illness and his wife was clearing everything prior to moving.
The car retains all its original trim, except the wheel arch trims which were missing.
