We are very pleased to a very rare 1979 Austin Mini 1000 Automatic. Very rare in this unrestored condition and oozing seventies charm. Finished in my favourite Mini colour of all time, Russet Brown with contrasting Stripey seats. This survivor example has only covered 60k in 47 years with just three previous owners, it was in the same family for 41 years and has lived a charmed life, it is accompanied with a service history folder and the original handbooks. It is a full matching numbers example and has all of its correct numbers including the commission number and body numbers. Minis from this era and in this condition need to be preserved, they offer the full Classic Mini experience and have that wonderful original feel.
On the road the Mini is great fun to drive. I have always been a big fan of Automatic Minis, offering the Go-Kart experience, simply jump in, select drive and away you go. The original engine is very smooth and holds excellent oil pressure. The auto gearbox is vey smooth and is effortless to drive and it quickly gets up to modern day traffic speeds. We fully recommissioned it last year working through all of the running gear so it is very responsive with taught suspension and positive brakes. It also has four brand new Blockley tyres giving it fantastic handling. The Mini has a real character and you will bond with it very quickly, every time I drive it I enjoy every minute.
The interior is beautifully presented and a real time warp. It has the all important Stripey seats and its original carpets, door cards and roof liner. It has a period Rokee full length Walnut dash which was possibly fitted when it was brand new along with the three spoke steering wheel. It also benefits from a Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth phone connection and music streaming as well as a USB/ AUX and a charging socket. The pinnacle of Mini interiors.
The Mini has a very solid shell and was lucky enough to be Ziebart wax injected from new which has done a fantastic job. It has the correct vented sills, solid subframes and floor pans. The boot floor is totally original as is the engine bay. It also has its original front wings and front panel. The paintwork is well presented but please do not expect it to be perfect it has a wonderful patina that needs to be appreciated for what it is. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a real piece of seventies Mini history.
The Mini has been fully serviced, checked and driven and it has a long MOT, it is also MOT and Tax exempt. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
