I have owned this van for nearly 12 years now , and has been fully restored and highly maintained during this time , with many upgrades , when I purchased her she had a 2 ltr aircooled engine , but during many of my adventures quickly realised that this did, nt suit my needs so upgraded to a Subaru 2ltr Legassy engine , since then she has not skipped a beat , with a many adventures around wales, Cornwall, EBI in Belgium and completing the NC500 last year , and endless vw festivals. unfortunately it is now time for someone else to have new adventures with her.
She has had many upgrades over the years of ownership , including a very recent body repair and full respray costing £5400 , completed by Carsmetics. even though she is now MOT exempt I still have an mot and service done every year , I’ve always wanted to own a camper , when driving a friends I was hooked , Bessy has had a full restoration during the 12 years I have owned her , and to my surprise she has a lot of documented history , working in the American embassy in Germany until 1982 she was transferred to the American Embassy in London, working as a transport bus , she even had the original bill of sale ( I have all the documentation of proof )
