For sale is my fantastic VW Bora V5 2. 3 170 “Oettinger”
Supplied new and sold by Keith Garages Ltd, a family owned VW main dealer located in Aylesbury. Keith Garages fitted the expensive VW official Oettinger kit, making this a very rare and desirable car as only VW main dealers fitted this kit. The main dealer registered this vehicle from new on 15/ 10/ 2001, 9 months later on 09/ 07/ 2002 they sold it to a lady, whom kept this car until 2025, a total of 23 years! During her ownership no money was spared to keep her in perfect working mechanical order. The same VW main dealer, Keith Garages Ltd, serviced this this car every year, hence the service book indicates 24 VW service stamps! To clarify this car has had 3 registered keepers, Keiths Garages – Lady 23 years – and me for one year.
The engine and gearbox are perfect, the 2. 3 V5 petrol engine, producing 170bhp, starts instantly and runs evenly with no noise or smoke. The gearbox is smooth and slick with a very light clutch pedal. The drive of this car is impressive and feels as new.
As mentioned no money was spared in keeping this car in perfect order, as an example at the last service on 46, 777 miles all the front suspension was replaced, including the top swivels, springs, shock absorbers, anti roll links etc. The mileage as of today is 47, 532, in the last year it has hardly been driven and since my ownership it has been garaged. I expect the owner of 23 years garaged this car as she is in absolutely superb condition, you may find the odd mark, but most will not, she is simply beautiful throughout.
The interior is immaculate in every respect with no wear, holes or funny smells. The spare wheel and tool kit are complete and unused. The tyres are all matching Michelins ZR Pilot Sports, all of which have plenty of tread. The Oettinger alloy wheels are free from kerb damage.
The paperwork I hold is two VW service books, the 2nd is an additional book to accommodate the 24 service stamps. I have the original V5, which when issued still catalogue the previous owner, so this V5 shows the original owner as Keith Garages then the lady. I also hold the present V5, which shows the vehicle to be registered in my name at my address. I have the original sales brochure and the present MOT which is valid until 26/ 01/ 2027, and as expected passed with no advisories.
I love this car, but my garage space will be lost soon as my son and I are going to rebuild his 1968 Mustang Fastback, its needs restoring so will take 18 months or so to complete. In the meantime I will be unable to garage my Bora so regretfully I am selling.
This VW Bora will only appreciate, its rare as not many Boras were sold in comparison to Golfs, let alone with the Oettinger Kit. I doubt there is another Bora V5 Oettinger, if there is it will not be as good as this one.
