Land Rover Series 2a 1962, nice and fairly original truck. Petrol 2286 cc engine. Odometer 'went round the clock’ about 600 miles ago. Wing-mounted mirrors, Smiths heater, Lucas windscreen wipers, free-wheel hubs. Full canvas tilt. Lovely patina, bronze green paint and zinc-plated cappings are in generally good condition. 7 pattern seats; old elephant hide front seats included. No seat belts. Cross-ply tyres including spare wheel, mounts to back of front bench seats. Thick rubber mats in footwells and rear well.
Recently fitted new head gasket, silencer, dynamo brushes & headlights. Exhaust blowing a bit and needs an engine oil & filter change. The engine starts and runs well but is a little tired.
Chassis and bulkhead in good condition as far as I know. A different tint of paint on the bulkhead suggests that has been changed at some point and some high-quality welding has been done (according to mechanic).
I’ve owned the truck since 2016, mainly used for trips to the dump and ferrying stuff about. Some recent history with MoTs back to 2007 (95, 545 miles). RAC check done when I bought it that indicated 5 previous owners and the VIN number ‘successfully verified’.
Two boxes of spares that include new oil pump, s/ h carburettor included.
