Scirocco 1982 GL auto
Selling our scirocco which is now an historic vehicle so no road tax or mot, its an early 1982 model the first of the mk2 body style with single wiper. had sat for many years and suffered sun damage mainly to the o/ s panels and rear seat backs due to the large rear tailgate window. The car was purchased and collected from the factory in 1982 and driven back to the UK. original Tarantula Wheels Wolfsburg edition from the factory. must have been one of the first mk2s in the UK being an X registration.
Still a great car and drives very well! just had a new MOT for peace of mind, we was going to restore back to original and repaint but have been using as she is and enjoyed it for what it is..... being very much original and still going strong.
My parents had the same same car when we were growing up in the 80s hence the interest in this model. We own several classics and this car has been a welcome addition to our collection. selling now as just purchased another classic and running out of storage.
The car is a GL model but seems to have been registered as a CL model. the GL has the optional auto gearbox plus headlamp washers and front fog lights etc. i purchased as the car was a very early mk2 as my dad had owned one although a manual 1. 5 CL version.
The originality of the car was good and it hasn't been messed about with / patched up or had botched repairs. we had plans to convert to manual but haven't got the heart to change from its originality.
