Due to a change in circumstances I am looking to sell my Mondeo 2. 0 Tdci Ghia X with 88, 600 genuine miles. I have owned this car for about 2 years and it has been one of the most comfortable and reliable cars I have owned from this era,. Being the Ghia X it comes with many toys like Cruise control, Electric Sunroof, heated front seats, black leather trim, electric drivers seat, auto dimming rear view mirror, to name but a few. It also has a full tow bar and electrics fitted, but I have never used it. The previous owner had the duel mass flywheel and clutch replaced at 62, 000 miles at a cost of £1, 181, which I have the receipt for. Since owning the car I have undertaken the following work:
* 2 x full services.
* Power steering fluid change.
* Replaced the crankshaft oil seal.
* Replaced the thermostat and coolant.
* Full crankshaft pulley and belt kit and also done the alternator clutch pulley mod so belts last longer and engine runs smoother.
* Recently replaced both rear wheel bearings.
* Replaced the rear silencer.
* Recent all round brake refurbishment with new discs and pads.
* New passengers rear coil spring.
This car is up together and been maintained to a high standard whatever the expense. These cars are legendary and were popular among taxi drivers, as with proper maintenance they could achieve high miles some covering 300, 000+. With this model being the 130BHP it pulls like a train and never fails to put a smile on my face. It is very economical on fuel, it does not smoke or burn oil, these engines are chain driven so no Cambelt changes to worry about and it doesn't have a DPF diesel particulate filter either. I would describe the condition as excellent for a 21 year old car, it does have the odd scratch and scuff as would be expected with a car of this age but is a solid old bus which when cleaned and polished still looks fresh and gets lots of attention.
Part Service history with receipts, just past its MOT with No advisories. Aircon not currently connected as I have put a shorted belt on, to maintain highest fuel ecomony. I am happy to answer any questions. This is a comfortable car, with powerful engine, Retro classic looks, simple engine, a good traditional family car.
