This is a very rare and highly distinctive car, finished in the extremely uncommon Citrus Yellow and fitted with its factory RS body kit. Examples like this are now exceptionally scarce, particularly in this colour, and it is rare to see one offered to the market.
Our Managing Director purchased the car a number of years ago, and it has formed part of his private collection ever since. When the vehicle failed an MOT some time ago, the decision was taken simply to park it up rather than rush the work, and due to a subsequent lack of storage space, the car is now being considered for sale.
Importantly, the vehicle will be offered with a fresh MOT, and as part of the sale price, all MOT failure items will be fully attended to prior to sale. The car is accompanied by a substantial history file and, despite the period of storage, drives extremely well.
Of particular interest is the car’s specification. In 1994, only a small number of 1. 8 models were supplied to four dealers fitted with the RS body kit, making this example especially unusual. The majority of RS-bodied cars were 2. 0-litre models, and it is fair to say that a 2. 0 RS Mondeo in this colour would command a very strong figure today—if one could even be found.
The colour is striking, suits the car perfectly, and gives it real presence. A fair amount of bodywork was carried out when our Managing Director first acquired the car, and there remains a small amount of cosmetic work to be completed, which will also be addressed prior to sale.
Once completed, this will be a rare, eye-catching, and increasingly collectible example, offered transparently and prepared correctly for its next owner.
