Jaguar X300 XJ6 3. 2 automatic saloon in exceptional condition, with a unique history. Formerly the personal car of a foreign ambassador to the UK, bought for his private use here, and previously registered on diplomatic plates. Serviced, presumably at his government's expense, at Creamer Jaguar London – the UK's leading Jaguar main dealer, back in the day! Gleaming Jade Green metallic with ultra-rare Olive Green leather interior and matching dashboard, etc.
Big file of bills for servicing and new parts, previously stored in an underground car park at the embassy. This car drives as befits a fastidiously maintained X300 of 47k miles. Turbine-smooth and creamy, it's a time-warp experience from an age where cars weren't designed to lap the Nurburgring at silly speeds. It handles very crisply, though.
Although not quite perfect, it's still one of the cleanest and most original XJ6s surviving, with only very minor cosmetic blemishes. No rust on body and/ or bubbling arches. Clean engine bay and boot. Interior leather and carpets and wood are all superb, as new – virtually unmarked driver's seat shows the very light use that it's had. The alloy wheels are all unkerbed and very good condition. For much of the time I've owned this car, it has been dry stored so if anything is suffering from lack of use. It's had 4 recent Continental tyres, an oil and filter change, an autobox oil change, track rod ends and new power steering and brake fluid – all in the past few thousand miles.
