In the late 1960's, Modena coachbuilders Neri & Bonacini - also known as 'Nembo' - were one of a number of local specialists contracted to work on the bodies of Ferrari prototypes. They created two examples of the Ferrari 250 GT Nembo Spyder, both of which went to the US.
In 1981, British enthusiast David Barraclough commissioned his own 250 GT Nembo Spyder using a 1963 250 GTE (chassis #4773GT) originally owned by French movie legend Alain Delon. Renowned Ferrari specialists Bodylines of Olney created the body, whilst Rosso Ltd carried out the engineering work. The huge history file includes extensive photos documenting the work.
The result is this remarkable 250 GT Nembo style Spyder in Rosso Rubino Metallizzato over a tan hide. It has been enjoyed by its current owner for over 20 years, including many European tours and the Modena Cento Ore.
The car currently shows just 23, 000 miles on the odometer. GTO Engineering has recently carried out a mechanical refresh at a cost of £7, 500.
