Description
Never a common model, even when new – this is likely to be the only surviving Cavalier GLS with the chip-cutter grille facelift. I’ve owned this car since 2011 and have enjoyed it sparingly for car shows and holidays since then. It is always stored under cover in the winter months. I have documented its renovation in 2015 (pictures of all works can be provided) and as you can see it is now a great-looking and completely standard example. It is by no means concourse but it is solid and rust free.
The car retains its original alloy wheels and triple coachline of the GLS model. Brightwork is in good condition as are bumpers and rubbing strips. The majority of the paintwork is original apart from the areas tended to in 2015. As such there are marks here and there, and scratches on the roof where someone has dragged something along the roof at some point years ago. Despite this, the pictures show you that it’s still a fantastic looking car ready for shows.
Inside, the grey mosaic velour is unmarked. There’s no damaged plastic trim either. It also has a full set of GM accessory rubber floor mats, and period aftermarket rear seat belts.
Mechanically the car is in excellent condition. It has covered only 57, 000 miles. This year I have changed the water pump and cambelt, and the history folder shows regular servicing and maintenance during my ownership. It is clean and tidy in the engine bay. It is presentable rather than overly-shiny. As you would expect, there’s a full MOT on the car with no advisories. This expires in August 2024.
Viewings are invited and I can usually facilitate this at weekends and weekday evenings. This is your opportunity to buy an outstanding example of a standard and unmolested Cavalier in a great colour and an unusual specification.
