Description
Chassis number 667221 was built in March 1954 and supplied to Sanderson and Holes in Derby. Of the 294 RHD cars built this one is Number 226 so it’s one of the rarest XK models.
The Jaguar was completely restored from the chassis up between 1976 and 1984 by the previous engineer owner of 46 years, with even a new old stock bulkhead being obtained from Oldham and Crowther the former parts company together with new rear wings.
With less than 20, 000 miles covered since and only driven in dry conditions.
In recent years a Tremec T5 gearbox has been fitted (moss box retained) giving a more relaxing driving experience with the 5 speed gearbox, which feels exactly like the Moss box.
The interior was retrimmed in red leather some 14 years ago and a new set of Michelin X Radials from Longstone tyres have covered little mileage.
Other upgrades include 2 x 12v battery’s which have just been renewed together with a newly fitted Bell stainless exhaust system.
The XK drives beautifully with good oil pressure with all instruments working correctly.
There are numerous receipts in the history file from leading Jaguar specialists and many previous Mot certificates.
Other detailed history goes back to 1962 and there is a buff logbook and Heritage certificate and workshop manual. This is a rust free UK supplied fully usable drop head coupe, being offered at a very reasonable figure, because of a move abroad.
The price also reflects the fact the the rebuilt engine is not the original but is the totally correct specification engine. The price is non negotiable and please only serious enquiries.
