2005 MX5 mk2. 5 in radiant ebony, 79900 miles. One of the last mk2. 5's, 6 speed box, LSD and OEM big brake kit.

Currently SORN as has been garaged since Sept 2022. Will come with MOT.

I purchased in 2015 and had it restored in 2021 by the MX5 restorer at a cost of almost £6000, the car has covered approximately 2000 miles since the repair, has always been garaged from October through March in my ownership.

The following work was completed for the restoration, the car is essentially rust free and repaired as from the factory:

Nearside + Offside rear sill and arch repair, including inner sill replacement, sill end plate replacement, full inner arch lip replacement, rear box section and rear jacking point repair, clean up and treat inner arch well.

Clean up, treat, protect and paint front structural sill behind the front wing, sill lip and front jacking point, NS+OS

Boot lid and rear scuttle painted to match arches.

The work above can be verified by the team at the mx5 restorer, I also have the receipts detailing the work done. Underside has been undersealed with bilt hamber Dynax UB, sills and frame rails were treated internally with Dynax S-50 cavity wax, underside surface rust wire wheeled, treated with Hydrate 80, and painted with epoxy primer and 2 pack prior to underseal. 2 points of surface rust in the engine bay were treated in the same way.


Engine is completely stock, with a K&N typhoon intake. Silicon hoses fitted throughout. Washer header tank relocated to scuttle with suzuki cappucino header tank. Wahlbro 255 fitted with relay direct power feed from the battery. Stainless cat back exhaust, will come with a decat header and the original headers with cat.

G19 lightened flywheel and pressure plate, G19 clutch disk will go with the car.

Was previously turboed on its original engine with an MS3 enhanced, and zeitronix ZT-2/ ZR-2, and stack boost gauge. Borg-warner K14/ 16 hybrid with billet compressor, tubular manifold and 2. 5" exhaust with intercooler, dump valve and Tial wastegate, mapped to 204 hp at the rear wheels on a hub dyno. The old engine spun a bearing just prior to the restoration work and was put back to stock after this. The auction does not include these parts, but they are available at extra cost.

Full deep OEM front splitter / skirts / rear spats, imported new from the US, complete with fitting kit. Painted to colour match the car with the OE mazda spoiler.

Bilstein OE Sport dampers with Autoexe springs (15mm drop on stock springs)

Cobalt 3 point shock tower brace.

Harddog Deuce chassis mounted roll bar fitted with 5mm spreader plates.

YellowStuff front pads, roddisons rear pads, calipers refurbed and painted in white.

Rota J-SPL wheels professionally refurbed in rota bronze, with Uniroyal Rainsport 3's

Interior mods are as follows.

OE Mazda tan carpets, door cards and two tone dash.
Phoenix seats and door card inserts
Montana mk2. 5 wooden wheel, phoenix steering wheel to match seat is also available.
Jass Seat bolsters

Selling as I haven't been using the car, and have a 10 month old boy and could do with the additional money.

Bought this in 2015 after getting out of bikes for a bit - this was the closest thing. They're easy to turbo and a great laugh.

Ironically enough this I've managed to get the car exactly as I first envisoned it, but I'm not driving it any more for a number of reasons. I dont really see the point in keeping it in the garage whilst it is doing nothing.
