Great opportunity to acquire my genuine 1961 Greeves Hawkstone Mx bike.
Full engine and gearbox build at the beginning of this seasons Greeves Motocross championship, but industrial injury has put paid to me competing having only ridden three rounds.
Nonetheless, this bike put me in 2nd place in the championship (amidst a sea of 380 Griffons) and leading the Hawkstone class by a large margin.
The motor has a nametab engineering crank with polished race rod and needle roller small end, nametab forged piston with cr250 rings, electronic ignition, genuine factory high compression head, very quick thick flanged Motocross barrel, cosworth spec primary chain, surflex clutch plates, hardened gear pawls, full race power expansion system with re- packable end can, lengthened alloy inlet stub with 32mm concentric carb, brass slide etc etc(please ask)
Recently vapour blasted cycle parts, etched then enameled Greeves blue, betor shocks, Greeves type bars alloy levers etc etc.
As mentioned, work injury has stopped me riding for the foreseeable future and forced much reluctant sale of this well sorted Hawkstone.
If you fancy the Greeves championship and want a bike with great provenance and a true Griffon worrier, then you won't find a quicker Hawkstone in the series.
Bike is eligible for pre60 series also.
None of these modifications and upgrades detract from the bikes originality, but only improve its reliability and riding experience.
