BMW Z3: R707 LGK
Produced between 1995-2002, BMW made just under 280, 000 Z3 roadsters. In 1997, BMW added the 2. 8 M52 engine to the run of cars, creating a faster, more desirable vehicle. In doing this, they added a wider rear track, as well as wider-rear wings. The suspension was uprated with slightly stiffer springs and shocks, and the fitment of a limited slip differential.
This widebody Z3 is in immaculate condition, and is a real credit to the current owner, who has maintained and looked after this car extremely well.
I’m selling this vehicle on behalf of the current owner, who due to ill health, is now no longer able to enjoy driving the Z3, so it must go. He is sad to be selling this! It is currently MOT’d till May 2024.
Exterior;
Where do I start – I don’t think the pictures do this Z3 justice. Its finished in bright Atlanta Blue (which really suits this car). Its recently had a stage 1 machine polish and wax which makes the paintwork gleam – not bad for a 26 year old car! There are no areas of rust; it really is as clean as it looks! It’s been garaged most of its life and I quote from the owner ‘it’s only seen the rain when it was delivered to me’.
There are a few small minor pin dents down the sides of the car, which I presume would be from parking. Other than this, you’ll find it hard to see any faults.
The car also comes with the optional 17” wider alloy wheels (to suit the widebody styling). These are in great shape and only have some minor scuffing (see pictures).
Now for the Electric roof… This works as it should – opens and closes without an issue and is in great condition with no rips or tears.
Interior;
To accompany the gleaming Blue paintwork, the interior is finished in bright Full Beige leather. With the electric seats, they’ve been recently treated/ conditioned, so they stay nice and soft. The bolsters have no wear and hold you in the seat nicely. I’ve also replaced the lower seat bushes, the usual flaw with this Z3’s.
It also comes with the optional ‘sport’ steering well, similar to that of an E36 equivalent.
Engine:
The M52 2. 8 straight six engine was introduced in 1997, producing 193bhp. This one pulls through the rev range as this is a very low mileage car, the engine is in tip top condition. I’ve recently serviced the car myself so it’s ready for its new owner.
