CR750 Recreation of the 1972 works racers finished in the recognisable Mike Hailwood Factory colours. Based on a 1973 Honda 750 it has had extensive work to bring it to the bike you see here.
The frame has been de-lugged and braced as to the factory spec and the "weldless" system has been professionally installed which allows the top rails to be removed to allow access to the head without the motor being removed. It also benefits from a box section swinging arm controlled by Koni " Dial A Ride" shocks. Forks are K0 with new stanchions ( found in Japan) and twin discs. Rear brake is a " made to look like" the factory twin leader. It isn't. Large capacity central oil tank. oil cooler. Mead speed alloy tank. Swarbrick exhausts which are now fitted with adjustable baffles so you can tone down the bark when needed. Boyer ignition system and retaining the charging unlike most which run on a constant loss basis. LED lighting and an electric start, which to be honest struggles to turn the high compression, 830cc motor. I run the standard 29mm carbs as i find the CR competition ones awful for road use. It event states "For race use only" on the CRs.
I have fitted all the correct parts i could find, cable rear brake, CR quick action throttle, clip ons, fairing and seat etc. Akront rims and TT100 tyres complete the period package. The bike has won shows but that's not what i built it to do. It was built to ride and does that very, very well indeed. It sounds absolutely glorious and draws a crowd wherever it goes. I have owned it for several years and its been improved each one but it is with a heavy heart that i have decided to part with it. I am only doing so due to the realisation that at 65, its simply too much for me and my old bones.
If you have an interest in a bike such as this, want to race, parade or pretend your Mike Hailwood come and have a look " and listen" along with a cuppa and a chat as the pictures do not do the bike justice. You will not be disappointed.
If you would like more information simply call me ( the details below) for a chat.
I am, of course, open to offers and also exchanges/ part exchanges.
Looking for something more suited to my age such as a Rickman Metisse desert racer, early flat tracker, kettle, or a Scott Squirrel ( my name is scott) even a flat tank pre war bike of a similar value. Try me, you might be surprised at my eclectic taste.
Just to add. This bike will be displayed on the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Stand at the upcoming CRMC classic meeting at Croft on the 30th September so if your attending come and talk with me. My number will be on the bike. The bike is very well kept with regular oil and filter changes and will be fully serviced before release. Obviously MOT exempt and free road tax.
Just to add. The pictures are a year or two old, do not do the bike justice and it is now fitted with a pair of TT100 tyres, new battery and the fairing is now sectioned to allow the removal of the side panels for easier access to the motor/ battery and carbs.
