109” / LWB 1977 “series 3” Land Rover, with diesel conversion.
Very much ready to go and in regular weekend use all summer.
Seats 7 with 3 up front and x2 bench seats in rear (new cushions this year).
The chassis and bulkhead are original and in good order but with various previous repairs over 45 years as you’d expect.
The engine had/ has been upgraded to a 2500cc dhaitsu diesel. This I understand was a popular conversion and is more powerful than the original Land Rover 2. 2.
The engine is in good order and parts are easy to get; it has plenty of power, even towing & extremely good on fuel plus £100 classic insurance with no road tax or MOT required.
The engine is correctly registered on v5 with DVLA and it has been confirmed due to the change being decades ago does not affect the vehicles historic status.
The gearbox selects all gears perfectly and the brakes are sharp. Working handbrake and even a working heater !
I have serviced the Landie 2023 including engine service, checked all oil levels plus fuel filter and all grease points.
She cruises around town at 30-40, and will make 55 if pushed.
