Just been MOT’d and is valid until September 2024

The car is in great mechanical state with thousands spent on it recently.

One of the early M62 engines -no vanos headaches.

This was the top of the line 5 series prior to the M5's release in 98
It has full m sport trim, and genuine BMW style 65’s staggered alloys that are in need of a refurb.

Full tan interior with sunroof, heated seats, BMW phone and electric sun shade. Also has cruise control and overall a fantastically specced car.

Has had lots of money spent on it throughout its life with plenty of paper work to show. Its service history up until 220k comes from from the same BMW main dealer in the Cotswolds.

Painted in a rare Oxford Green Metallic. I’ll be the 4th owner of the car.

I bought the car from and e39 enthusiast who at the time of purchase had another 540i and a 530i, he had to let one go as he was having a child a think abit of pressure from the Mrs. Prior to his ownership it was owned by a man in Wiltshire who kept it as his pride and joy from the early to mid 00s until about to the late 2010s he didn’t put so many miles on it. The vast majority of miles were from the first original owner of the car from new who had it from 96 to the mid 00s he lived in the Cotswolds and bought the car from BMW hereford, he often commuted from there all the way to London and had the car serviced by the same BMW dealer in the Cotswolds right up until 220, 000 miles so it’s been really well looked after plenty of service history. I have put over 20k miles on the car this year alone and it has been fantastic!

Within recent years, the suspension has had an overhaul, timing chain guides have been replaced twice and checked, rocker gaskets replaced, intake manifold rebuilt, new tyres, abs sensors and o2 sensors and camshaft sensors replaced both front shock absorbers, and the PCV valve along with general regular servicing. The maintenance myself and previous owners have done have kept the car in great condition.

The bad points:
The mileage is high but the car does not show it in how it drives or looks. The car due to being driven and garaged throughout its life has meant there is minimal rust however in the interest of being straight forward there is a small patch of bubbling about the size of a 1 pence coin on the boot right hand side just above where the licence plate. there is some very superficial rust about the thickness of a pencil the runs about 8 cm in the seam of the fuel filler door. Overall the rust on the car is in far better shape then majority of E39's out there. The pixels on the dash display like many E39's are dwindling and some are dead. The air con also does not blow as cold once is once did and could do with a re-gas.

I had considered bringing the car with my to Australia but realistically the shipping costs and the costs to change the speedo and other items over to KM/ h is just too much.
