Description
1965 250 SE Automatic
Originally sold and registered in Australia. Documents in the history file show the car was sold new in 1965 to A H Francis. That name shows in the history and registration documents throughout the cars ownership in Australia, the last address being noted as a retirement village. It is believed the car remained in singe ownership from 1965 until being brought to the UK. I am the only UK owner so as far as I am aware it is only a two owner car from new. The mileage of 12, 296 is thought to be correct but can’t be verified.
Registered in the UK since 2020 the car has been my collection but seldom used so time for someone else to enjoy it. Always garaged and regularly started.
Expect some light recommissioning given the almost zero use in many years. Starts, drives and stops but most mechanical bits need a run through.
Absolutely solid throughout, underside is excellent with no sighs of rust.
History file contains sales receipt and written correspondence between A H Francis and B. E. A Distributers who I understand to be the suppling dealer. Photocopy of original warranty card. Also on file is a letter dated 2020 from Mercedes Benz UK Homologation Department confirming the cars chassis number, engine number, date of manufacture, country of manufacture and country of first registration being Australia.
Original book pack and tool kit present.
Paint work is excellent. Interior is very good bar some cracking on the dash and usual fading of dash trims.
Very solid and pretty example of this iconic car with an interesting history.
More pictures or videos available as required. FaceTime call welcome to go round the car in detail.
