- Has been used for green laning, this vehicle is setup for offroading and has lots of little scratches and dents all over.
I bought this car a bit over 3 years ago as a light project, it was roadworthy at the time but a bit tired in general. I spent a couple of years working on it, I fitted new wheels/ tyres (£1000), a 2" suspension lift (pucks and new shock absorbers), all new suspension arms and bushes front and back, a new viscous coupler in the transfer case (over £600 for the coupler alone), new brakes, and I recently fitted a new winch and winch plate (almost £1000 between them). I have spent considerable time painting the underside of the car, making sure all rust was treated or cut out and welded. New battery and alternator.
Front bumper has been cut to accommodate the winch plate and the bigger wheels/ tyres.
I have receipts for all the parts I've fitted. It comes with two sets of keys, and if desired, the original wheels with perished tyres. Serviced last summer, including transfer case and gearbox oil, only done 1000 miles since.
There is an occasional electrical fault, the drivers door switches lose power, you need to disconnect the battery to reset it. Common sort of issue on these cars, likely a slightly corroded electrical connection somewhere between door and ECU. Incredible offroad ability, easy parts availability, great looks and increasing rarity, the opportunity to buy a ZJ is becoming a rare one. This example won't be a concourse winner, but it will be a lot of fun wherever you decide to drive it.
