Imported last year from the South of France this little Lancia has faired much better than the UK market cars due to the climate. Lancia did not have the best reputation for rust back in the 70's which saw off most of these great little cars. With it's 1. 3 V4 engine and Getrag 5 speed gearbox the Fulvia was quite some car in it's day and makes for an interesting classic now that can happily cope with the horror of modern traffic. I personally imported the car and have carried out recommisioning work as required.
The bodywork is in good shape for the age with very good sills and overall structure. It has had one small area of welding to the drivers floor which was done some time ago and could do with tidying up to make perfect. This has been caused by a leaking windscreen seal which ideally should be addressed but as I keep it indoors it never really causes a problem. There are a few small blisters and scuffs but overall it is a tidy looking little car. It has been resprayed in it's previous life and is now a lighter silver with a mettalic brown roof which actually suits it quite well.
Mechanically it has had quite a bit of work, all the brakes replaced including master cylinder, all 4 callipers and all brake lines. The engine starts on the button and runs really well. It has had the carbs cleaned and a new water pump. The coolant hoses have also been changed along with a reconditioned radiator. Finally it has had 4 new tyres fitted so is ready to go.
The interior is lived in with rubber mats and vinyl seats. They are in ok condition and a lot more comfortable than they look. All the instruments work along with the rest of the electricals.
So there we have it a rare and interesting little car that is mot, tax and ULEZ exempt ready to be used and improved as you go. I have got a few spares that go with the car including a spare set of carbs and head gasket set. You just can't beat Italian cars of the era for the driving experience and performance. These little Fulvias perform way beyond anything homegrown in the UK and are still surprisingly quick cars even now. With the soundtrack from the little V4 engine and a Getrag dog leg gearbox this is a cheap entry into a sports saloon. Only selling as I am looking for a prewar project.
