Description
This car is an original UK spec RHD 1600 HF and one of only approximately 400 built. The car had a full restoration in 1994-7, at which time series 1 Fanalone aluminium doors, boot and bonnet were added, and the car was resprayed red, from its original white colour. The engine was rebuilt by the renowned Lancia engine whisperer Peter Gerrish in 1996. Since then the car has been meticulously maintained. Most recently (October 2025) the car went through a major service by Omicron, which included adding electronic ignition, rebuilding the carburettors, servicing the brakes, along with other key work, including replacing wheel bearings, axel boots, going over all the electrics, and MOTing the car. Exterior This car’s pared back scale and simple, elegant design gives it a purity of line and form that are entirely in keeping with the visceral, unfiltered driving experience it offers. The bodywork is entirely free of dinks, dents or creases. The panel gaps and shut-lines are very good, with the panels having been realigned by Omicron in October this year. The original 14” X 6” Cromodora wheels were finished in gold in September this year and are in prefect condition. The wheels are shod in matching Goodyear Eagle Ventura rubber which have plenty of life left in them. Whilst there are a few minor imperfections here and there, (see pics for details), the car overall in excellent condition, rust free, and runs perfectly. Interior The interior is a joy to behold and is in truly excellent condition. The rear seats are trimmed in the original vinyl and come with red BS/ MoT compliant seat belts. The front seats have been retrimmed in black leather with red piping. The door cards are in very good order, as is the headlining, which has been replaced. The black plastics on and around the dashboard and centre console free from crack or fade, as is the wood veneer dashboard itself. The Moto-Lita steering is in fine condition. All buttons, knobs, dials, gauges and switches do what they’re supposed to do, having been overalled in October this year by Omicron and Speedy Cables. The boot is as good as the rest of it and contains a full-sized spare wheel. Mechanical The engine and engine bay are clean and fresh-looking, with everything original and as it should be. There are no leaks or drips anywhere and the engine runs incredibly smoothly, having only covered around 6, 000 since it was fully rebuilt. The underside of the car is structurally sound, rust free, with no known issues. Any issues to the structure, body or engine which have materialised over the years have been professionally dealt with. The brakes have recently been overhauled with re-furbished callipers, new seals to master cylinder and a brand-new servo unit. The car had an engine oil and plugs service in October. History The car comes with all manner of bills, invoices and receipts attesting to its restoration, maintenance, repair and long-term curation over the years. There are also magazine articles, Omicron parts catalogues, and old MoT certificates to tell us that the car’s mileage in 1992 was 7, 819 and, in 2012, 20, 205 miles. Today, the odometer is showing 23, 077 miles, with the car having just completed a 1, 200 mile drive through France. The car comes with three sets of keys, a clear HPI report and a V5C. The car has a fresh MoT (personally I feel cars should have MoTs and be properly road worthy whether they are exempt or not) and is ready to go. Summary Original RHD iterations of these cars were rare in the first place and they’re only going to become rarer. This car has the very real benefits of having been in long-term ownership since 1987; having been used sparingly but regularly; and having been worked on by respected marque experts as and when necessary. The private plate can be included within the sale for an additional price. Viewing is strongly encouraged. The car is located in Buckinghamshire. Lancia’s Tipo 818 Fulvia was introduced way back in 1963 at that year’s Geneva Motor Show. It maintained and furthered Lancia's unparalleled reputation for innovation in automobile design. Named after the old Roman route from Tortona to Torino, this lightweight Lancia was available in three body types; two-door coupe, four-door saloon and a fastback coupe designed by Zagato. The Appia replacement featured an all new, narrow-angle, overhead-camshaft V4 engine, front-wheel drive, independent front suspension by double wishbones, and disc brakes all round - none of which could be considered ‘the norm’ in the 1960s. The Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF was a high-performance rally version of the car that was produced from the late 1960s to early 1970s. This car that established Lancia's reputation in motorsport. Introduced in 1969, it was a racing-focused version of the Fulvia coupé, developed from a prototype and achieving major victories, most notably winning the 1972 International Championship for Manufacturers and helping secure a second one in 1974.
