The bodywork is in good order and is ridiculously solid on the underside for a 30 year old car, it requires no work for the foreseeable future, I use the car for a 50 mile commute a couple of days a week and it's perfectly useable daily and gets so many compliments it's unreal,
Although the 240 is a sizeable beast it only weighs in at around 1380kg so with 250 hp on tap it can certainly keep up with modern traffic. there's scope for more power but at this boost level these engine are proven to be very reliable.
It really is ready to just enjoy,
Here's a quick run down of the parts fitted,
Engine
Standard Volvo 940 B230FK low pressure turbo block, new seals and gaskets,
Volvo 740 '531' cylinder head with larger exhaust valves and mildly gas flowed by Andy at Cylinder Head Developments.
Volvo 'A' cam.
Ported exhaust manifold with 16T turbocharger.
Very expensive JP Exhausts stainless custom exhaust with 3" downpipe into 2. 5" system with sports cat.
Airtec RS500 intercooler.
Wasted spark ignition with Magnecor leads.
Fuel and ignition ecu chips.
Mocal remote oil filter.
BMW e28 oil cooler.
Uprated fuel pump,
Volvo 940 electric cooling fan and alternator.
Electronic boost controller set at a safe 1. 3 bar of boost
Engine Oil and Filter in the last 500 miles
Transmission
Volvo 940 M90L2 gearbox.
TTV flywheel.
Volvo 850R clutch.
BMW e34 M5 propshaft coupling.
Volvo 940 type propshaft centre bearing.
'Craving boost' short shift gear lever.
Suspension/ steering
Spax lowering springs.
Bilstein B4 shock absorbers.
IPD anti roll bars.
Kaplhenke roll correction spacers.
Slightly shortened trailing arms (to centre rear wheels in the arches).
Threaded adjusters added to rear control arms and panhard rod.
Brakes
Mazda RX7 front callipers on Yoshifab brackets,
Volvo 940 front discs.
Wheels
Modified Peugeot 17" steel wheels. The wheels are not banded, so no chance of leaks, instead the centres have been released, and rewelded further in for the front wheels. The rears have the centres reversed, putting the dish on the outside.
Misc
Load liner, load cover. Clear front/ rear lamp units. Black painted headlamp buckets. Trim tape from door tops removed. Lower plastic door/ sill trim removed. Earlier model rear valance panel and door mirrors. Peugeot roof aerial. Original blue interior trim replaced with grey/ black. Rover 800 Vitesse Recaro front seats (slight damage on driver's bolster). Momo steering wheel. VDO Oil temp, pressure and boost gauges. AEM wideband gauge. Pioneer radio/ Cd player.
Overall a very well executed conversion with best parts available,
