Volvo 240 Torslanda TURBO K673 PNR
What is it? A true sleeper.
The Volvo 240 was the car that proved to be so good, Volvo struggled to replace it. Production spanned from 1973 to 1994, that’s 21 years as the world’s favourite estate car!
Despite numerous other special editions, it is this late model Torslanda that has captured hearts and minds and continues to be desirable being the final roll of the dice before the 240 was finally phased out in 1994.
Offering three different exterior colours, tinted windows, plastic exterior trim, multi spoke alloy wheels, stylish body striping and the iconic Torslanda badges; these cars also came with heated seats as standard.

What’s it got?
The modifications were selected to create a fast, reliable but usable car. They include a fully rebuilt 2. 3 B230FK redblock engine with high spec build 431 head, a refurbished V70R KKK turbo and lightened flywheel.
A 5-speed M90 gearbox with fabricated linkage to mate with the original 240 gear stick was installed, offering a much improved drivetrain.
The full stainless steel exhaust hints to the car's modifications without shouting.
Subtlety lowered using adjustable dampers and 200 series specific springs offers a compliant ride. The suspension has been fully polybushed, mated up with thicker front and rear anti roll bars to improve handling, the original wheels have been retained but fitted with slightly wider tyres with a lower profile which have improved the overall grip.
How does it drive?
Having an estimated 280 BHP certainly improved the performance but it's not wild, we see no reason why it couldn’t be used as a daily driver, all the modifications were intended to improve rather than compromise the existing platform whilst retaining the cars' practicality, The subtle appearance can blend in or surprise when required. Robert Redford famously dailyed a sleeper Volvo wagon!
Why this one?
The original vehicle presents in superb order having never been welded, the paintwork is superb as is the blue velour interior. A full owners bookpack, two original keys and a well stamped service book are present to demonstrate it has been a cherished car.
