Description
The car was bought from a private individual by my son in 2016 with 7 previous owners before him. He transferred the car to myself in 2022 as he is now living abroad. I would say that the paintwork is not in bad condition but what you may expect for a car of this age. There is a 'dink' by the passenger door from a car park at local supermarket, possibly by a shopping trolley.
The car has been most reliable and drives well with no disturbing engine noise. However the door locks would need some attention as they can be temperamental.
Hard top is put onto the car during October but would benefit from a re-spray as can be seen in the photos. The pvc rear window of the soft-top if replaced would also improve the look but is water tight. (see photos)
The reason for selling the MX5 is that it is sadly not being used enough. The car is rarely driven in the winter and needs to go to someone who will make more use of it. Some useful information:
Cambelt changed at 90, 000 miles.
New battery summer 2022.
MOT expires 31 August 2024.
n/ s/ f shock absorber replaced for last MOT.
A new statrter motor installed July 2023
New o/ s/ f - o/ s/ r and n/ s/ r calipers in June 2023.
Cambelt was changed at 90, 000 miles.
The car has a part service history and comes with the original owners manual in the Mazda wallet.
It is great fun to drive and gives you a true yesteryear driving experience as it has no power assisted steering, ABS etc that you find as standard in cars now. This is all to its advantage as it can be suggested there is less to go wrong!
