I am devastated to be selling my late father's 1976 Norton Commando 850 MK3 Roadster (with fully working Electric Start)

Of course it is both Road Tax and MOT exempt here in England!

This bike was sat under a cover for many years before we bought it.
We know it?s history, and that the 3, 800 miles is genuine.
It was stored by ex-racer Tony Smith at one of the sheds on his farm for much of it?s life and kept as ?a future investment?.

When we got it, everything rubber on the bike was either hard or perished, so as part of the re-commissioning, Dad and I replaced everything that was needed.

We did a compression test and full leak down test to confirm there were no internal issues.
We also measured cam lift and duration to ensure there is no camshaft wear.

There was some pitting on the carbs, so these were replaced for brand new Amal Premiers (the correct ones, WITH the notched spray tube)

There was some rust on one of the rims (this was a 70s factory recall, that wasn't dealt with) so we replaced both wheels for Excel rims built by the best - Buchanan's in the US.

We upgraded the brake master cylinder to a modern 13mm Brembo unit, which in my opinion is the single best upgrade you can do.
At the same time, we swapped the front brake from left to right, purely because we felt it looked nicer.
We also added a stainless braided line (in lieu of the rubber hoses and bundy) to get rid of any sponginess
The result of these brake upgrades is brilliant, and the classic-bike look isn't ruined.
