1983 Husqvarna CR250 Twinshock
Bought as a restoration circa 4 years ago it has been restored to use as a twinshock motocross race bike, this has always been my spare bike so has had very little use during the last few years. Now the time has come to move it on as I fancy building another.
Powder coated frame and swinging arm with new chain tensioner bracket. Before the final coating was applied frame and swing arm was inspected for cracks and damage. Chassis has had new steering bearings, swing arm bearings. HVA factory rear brake pedal with cable conversion.
Wheels have had new bearings throughout, brake shoes and springs
Brake plates have also been restored TLS front and SLS on the rear
Front suspension has had new seals, top out washers and dust boots. Rear ohlins have had a service including replacement of floating piston caps to eliminate gas leaking from old style valve caps. New springs also fitted with correct paint and stickers on shock bodies.
Engine has had a full strip down and inspection,
Rebore and piston circa 1 hours use since.
Bottom end has covered less than 10 hours considering this has been used at a handful of meetings 3x 15 minute races and practice. So possibly a lot less
Conrod pin and bearing , main bearings, gearbox bearings usual HVA clutch mods with replacement plates ?see YouTube videos ? new clutch basket, gearbox inspected for wear on gears and selectors, HVA sprocket seal upgrade, new electrex world mx ignition, finned ignition cover to replace plastic item, new carb, new Vforce inlet with carbon reeds,
New HVA pipe and silencer.
During the build process it has had all of the usual items replaced ?I say this because I?ve forgotten most of it? cables, throttle assembly, renthal bars, plastics graphics etc, HVA footrests, air filter, air boot, new Clarke plastic tank, seat foam base and cover.
How I would describe the bike
This is a bike that I built to race and I have done just that with it so has associated marks from use where your boots rub etc.
Although I dislike this phrase it is ready to race. It starts well it is jetted clean, plug is a nice colour it doesn?t miss behave when hot no running on or pinking. I raced it at orp le grand on the 27th August 2023 it was faultless.
The bike has been restored to an original condition with original nordisk rims, Magura levers, Genuine Gunnar gassar throttle with period correct plastics, 40mm forks and original ITC rear shocks. If this bike wants to be ridden in Europe these are all items that would be expected to be seen at certain events.
Price is firm £4995 due to the parts cost of building something like this
