A bit of retro charm comes in the shape of this Rover 45.
Registered on 1st September 2000 on the then-new X-plate, the car has obviously led a fairly sheltered life because it's only covered 27, 800 miles from new, which is backed-up by the MOT history.
One thing that pleased me is that it's still wearing what looks to be its original supplying dealer rear number plate.
Although I'm only guessing, it's probably been the archetypal elderly person's car, covering a few hundred miles each year.
Obviously with such low mileage it's in very good condition for its age, although that's not to say perfect - it's possibly had parking dings during its life because it looks like the bumpers have been repainted at some stage in a slightly different shade of blue.
On the road the 1. 4 petrol engine is lively and eager to rev, as these units always were, and it shows no sign of any mechanical issues. The gearbox is nice and precise and the clutch progressive.
Also, being the smaller engine size the car qualifies for the lower rate of road tax.
All in all, this will make someone an ideal runabout. Or, it's one to use on high days on holidays and wait for the value to increase.
The car is MOT's until September 2024 and so is pretty much ready to drive away.
Open to any inspection or trial.
