Beschreibung
This is a late 2002 Japanese import. VX limited model. Petrol V8 5 speed automatic, one of the early face lifted models. This was imported in 2017 by the first owner before I bought it in 2020. The odometer reads 85633 now, a combination of miles and km. It came into the UK with around 63, 000 km. The car has had just over 20k miles on it since 2017. True odometer reading is just over 60K Miles. This will continue to rise very slightly as it is still in use from time to time.
It has a great MOT history. Brand new windscreen fitted. I have had the oil and spark plugs changed. Timing belt changed very recently by previous owner suggested by the date in engine bay. I have been maintaining the truck myself with regular oil and filter changes.
I have also had the chassis treated and coated with Dinitrol to further protect it as regularly driven on salty Scottish winter roads. Its got new tyres (Yokohama Geolander AT) and a new OEM Toyota exhaust fitted.
It gets acceptable MPG at 18 to 20 at 50 to 60MPH. Plenty of overtaking power with the 2UZ-FE V8. No troublesome air suspension to worry about as this Land Cruiser never came with one! This LC is bone stock which is very rare nowadays with a lot having LPG conversions as well as off road modifications.
It is very original with all the mats. They are currently in storage and will come with the car. Currently its got rubber mats in place to protect the felt lining. These will come with the car too. 2x rear seats are also in storage.
The bad bits: The previous owner in Bristol lost the service history but I was reassured it was all done to specs. It had near side front bonnet mirror and a rear mirror which is very common in Asia and Japan. They have been removed by the previous owner but they left some holes that are covered up as you can see in the photos. The rear anti roll bar linkages have very slight play likely due to age but does not affect driving. I am waiting for a set of headlight washer horns as the near side horn snapped off.
This would make a good car for a collection or a good base for an over landing build.
I am selling as considering a switch to a 70 series Troopy pop-top. Will keep if asking price not met.
Please study the photos carefully. The photos of the car in general show what the car looked like 2 years ago when I got it- No changes other than the snapped headlight washer horn, The chassis photos show the before and after the coating, last top up was only 6 months ago. The exhaust has been replaced only 2 months ago (not pictured). The tyres were replaced last month.
Car is currently in a secure garage and has been so during my ownership. Viewing by appointment only due to my work schedule.
£22, 000 ONO. In summary:
Pros:
1. Low miles, completely original JDM Landcruiser with the face lifted and desirable 5 speed automatic. No Automatic Height Control (AHC) to worry about.
2. Clean chassis and body given most of its life spent in Japan, only came into the UK in 2017 and rust treated + sealed in 2020.
3. Never used for towing, never had a tow bar fitted
4. Road use with occasional off-road use whilst on Orkney, Hoy, NC500 and around John O'Groats. Has been to an off road course once in Fife.
5. Up-to-date maintenance under my ownership, new exhaust and brand new tyres.
Cons:
1. No service history prior to my ownership
2. Rear roll bar linkages will need replaced in due course but does not affect driving.
3. Odd looking holes with the JDM market mirrors removed
4. Can be expensive to run as a daily or a city round about, but folks that are looking at this
likely know this already!
