History On The Group B Metro
Ex Mika Arpiainen MG Metro 6R4 Group B International Spec

1986 a brand new 6r4 was imported into Finland to Mika Arpiainen driving at the 1986 1000 lakes rally he was one of the fastest Finnish rally drivers of the period winning Finnish championship in 1984 and 1985 driving an Audi Quattro.
1986 Motormec Oy Finnish rally team converted the car to LHD and did full international specs conversion for the 1986 1000 lakes rally where Mika was 9th overall before going off-road on stage 19
1986 November after the 1000 lakes rally motormec repaired the car and Mika won overall 1st at the Helsinki rally and he done one more snow rally at the end of year before the group B was banned.
1987 Mika sold the car to Pasi Mustonen who raced the 6r4 on various RallySprints and winning the Finnish RallySprint championship
1997 mustonen sold the car to Llkka Aminoff and he sent the car for full rebuild to David Appleby Motorsport DAM in England UK the engine was also rebuilt to International spec 410bhp and gearbox was also rebuilt at this time.
1998 the car was returned back to Finland and Aminoff only did 2 rallysprints to 10kms and the front diff brok up with the diff breaking he decided to retire from racing and left the car at his summer house fortunately he had ordered a new diff at the time but the car stood untouched until 2012.
2012 Timo Helisten heard about the car and it was still in the summer house and Aminoff agreed to sale the car and on October 17 2012 he sold Timo the car including the new diff.
2013 Timo sent the car to Makela Auto Tuning MAT for full restoration to its original international spec
the car was used once in winter season at MAT ice driving events
2018 car was returned back to original livery period 1000 rally of the lakes when Mika rallied the car.
2021 Car Sold To Darrell Taylor UK and I have turned the car into full tarmac spec
Car Was Registered on its correct 091 chassis number with help from David Sims and given a C reg UK number
Purchased Registration Number On Private Retention Certificate C84 RBD from the owner of 098 the rally X car and 098 Has a new number
