Description
First registered in February 1970 and has been owned by us since 1998. It is mostly in original condition but was made smart at the time of purchase, by the family garage (a franchised dealership in Norfolk). I am sure it was resprayed because it looks too good not to have been done but don't have the details of the work undertaken.
It is rust free, has been ziebarted and has been garaged all of its life. Nothing has been changed other than the stereo but that is an old Goodmans cassette drive system. The seats are original and untouched (the driver?s side is split as can be seen from the photos), the dash is original and the soft top. There is a colour matched factory hardtop as well.
Generally it is in very good condition and drives nicely. It has recently had a new battery (not original spec), carbs cleaned, plugs and points all cleaned and set up. The tyres were replaced about three years ago and some suspension work carried out in order to pass the then MOT. The radiator hoses and some of the brake pipes were also replaced during the same period.
Now, it would benefit from a new air filter and probably a complete carb strip down due to not having been used.
None of the chromework or spoked wheels have been refurbished so if someone wished to treat it as winter project, along with re-upholstering the driver's seat, there is plenty of scope to bring it back to a much higher standard.
The only thing that is not working, is the speedo and has not been since the early 2000s. The last recorded mileage is 65323 but the car has not been used other than to be taken to the local test centre, since 2004 so the mileage will not be far from the actual. We have some paperwork recording work carried out but not a full history.
Overall a pretty car, in a british racing green paint finish, which looks very well with the spoked wheels and narrow chrome bumpers.
