Immaculate and original 190E with FSH
1990 Mercedes 190E 2. 0 5 speed manual in Metallic Dark Grey - 86116 miles
Selling my lovely 190E after 2 fantastic years of ownership as I have recently moved back to Central London. Throughout my ownership the car has proven to be a comfortable and utterly reliable daily classic.
This 190E is totally original, with only the upgraded Blaupunkt stereo and clear front indicator lights being the exception to this otherwise standard car. The car benefits from the following options;
- 5 Speed Manual gearbox (somewhat of a rarity in the UK as this would have been specified from new)
- Full electric windows (front and rear)
- Power sunroof
- Alloy wheels
This particular example has always been looked after and cared for, evident from a large file of service history dating back to 1992. The car is in great condition and is totally rust free, with original paintwork on all panels.
As with many Mercedes of the era, this example is also mechanically perfect and runs smoothly, and has benefitted from frequent servicing and attention. It has been cared for in recent years by Nigel Scrace (Indepenent Mercedes specialist in West Kent) who has ensured everything works as it should. Recent maintenance and repairs includes;
- Replacement of steering idler arm (as per MOT advisory)
- Change of power assisted steering fluid and filter
- Replacement of rear nearside road spring
- Replacement of front right window regulator switch
- Replacement of CV boot
- Full service
It is to be noted that the power antenna has unfortunately broken, however given that the radio still works perfectly I have not replaced the unit. However, I have purchased a new spare Hirschmann unit which the new owner could fit as they choose.
Overall this is a lovely example of an iconic car If you are looking for a comfortable and reliable classic you can use everyday this would make an excellent choice. Equally if you are looking for a weekend car to cherish then this would also be perfect.
