Description
Dating from January 1989 this W201 series Mercedes 190E is finished in attractive two-tone Nautic Blue and sits on its original 15inch 15-hole flat faced alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet, we find the 2. 0 liter fuel-injected (hence the ‘E’ in 190E) M102-962 four-cylinder petrol engine developing 120Bhp driving the rear wheels via four-speed 4G-tronic automatic transmission with Sports and Economy modes.
Inside, we find a comfortable grey-checker cloth interior with electric front and rear windows, electric tilt, rear head rests, rear seat nets, and slide sunroof, electric passenger mirror, Zebrano wood trim, heated rear window and retrofit modern Blaupunkt radio/ DAB with a retro design/ look.
The car shows 124, 911 miles and comes to us from enthusiast and active MB Club member and has been maintained by him with detailed records recording not just his own works and expenditure but everything prior to his tenure too. The car has covered only c. 20, 000 miles in the last 20 years with limited dry weather use only, predominantly for MB Club events including being featured in the 2019 MB Club calendar on file.
The history file includes the V5C showing 6 former keepers to the current of 18 years, 2 old V5’s, the current MOT valid until May 2026 with no advisories recorded (it can have a fresh MOT if necessary), 9 old MOTs, a file of bills for parts purchased and works undertaken along with a detailed inventory of all work and spend on the car compiled by the car’s enthusiast and exacting owner. We also note inclusion of the service book recording 8 entries and all keys.
Works of note include the head gasket renewed in 2007 at 112, 300 miles, automatic gearbox oil and filter change in 2014, center prop shaft mounting and bearing plus fuel pump in 2016 at 115, 000 miles, rear brake calipers, discs, hand brake shoes and flexis in 2017, wheel refurbish, grill re-chrome and service in 2019, diff oil change in 2021, speedo cable in 2023, steering damper, new radiator, aux belt in 2024, automatic transmission service again in 2025 along with another lube service and a heap of other works covering 2 full A4 pages dating back to 1989.
A super example without the usual wear many 190’s suffer from - the door cards are as they should be, the seat back storage nets are not saggy, the chrome is smart, the interior excellent and the car runs as it should - no surprise given its fastidious maintenance history.
Ready to be loved and enjoyed once again and ideal for export to Ireland given its age.
