1979 Yamaha XS 1100 Martini
Welcome to my Yamaha XS 1100 Martini. This is a UK registered bike from new and is original and fully refurbished.
This is an exceedingly rare machine and one of only 500 made and released worldwide, 65 coming to the UK, with the John Mockett designed fairing and the Martini livery.
The UK register databases show that there are less than 15 left registered, which confirms this bike shines in any collection.
This actual machine, number 435 of 500, was featured in classic motorcycle mechanics magazine, October 2006. It was tested by editor Rod Gibson who found that the Mockett Faired XS1100 fully lived up to its reputation as a superlative tourer.
This is a true late 70s, early 80s iconic muscle bike. I have owned this machine for several years, in the time I have owned it, it has been fully re-commissioned, including new fork seals and a full dismantle and refurb of the rear brake cylinder and all three brake callipers with stainless steel pistons, by Brakemasters (Powerhouse). This also included Goodridge, vintage, matt black hoses.
The pannier set is of the right period and was found and refurbed by two great friends, Terry and Linda Bowater, thanks guys.
I have ridden this bike, along with my other bikes, it is currently showing 29, 500 miles. It is ready to jump aboard and ride or sit proudly in anyone’s collection. This is indeed an exceedingly rare machine.
