Description
A clean and solid example of an early XK8 Coupe, finished in Antigua blue metallic paintwork with cream leather interior trim, set off with Burr Walnut veneer, and sitting on correct 'Flute' 18 inch alloys, all in great condition.
It features the usual Jaguar refinements, plus has the optional 'premium' Harman Kardon sound system (with original code and working LCD display), with CD multichanger and amp in the boot. It also has the optional CATS suspension, heated seats, and cruise control (which is surprisingly uncommon on these cars).
There are a few small blemishes in the paintwork, and the usual signs of use on the drivers seat, as you would expect on a car of this age and mileage, but overall, it still looks great, with the metallic blue particularly suiting the shape and classic lines of the coupe.
Underneath, it is in particularly good condition, having obviously been well protected and looked after from new. The MOT history check shows no advisories or any mention of corrosion at any point, something quite rare on these cars, and the tester at its most recent MOT on 11th January stated it was one of the best he'd seen for a long time.
Overall, this is a nice looking, and reasonably well sorted car, that is ready to be used and enjoyed over the upcoming summer months as is, but still has a little room for the new owner to improve upon if so desired. First registered 31st January 1997
MOT to 10th January 2025
There are 11 service stamps in the book, all from Jaguar main dealers except the last, which was done by respected Jaguar independent specialists 'Jagutek' in Ely, with a note confirming the timing chains and tensioners were replaced at 97, 942 miles.
More recently, all brake discs and pads have been replaced, along with many of the steel and flexi pipes, and the ECU, that can become troublesome on these early cars, has been professionally overhauled at a cost of £444 in December last year, so the car now runs and drives perfectly, with no faults, warning lights, or messages.
