I have for sale an ultra rare 'Unicorn' Subaru Legacy 3. 0R SpecB – this was manufactured in Japan in late 2007 and was registered in the UK in 2008 – around 17 such cars were sold in the UK – 3 of which were 65Z color code. I have never seen one on the road in my 8 years of driving this and I have been all over the South of England in that time – you often hear genuine reason for sale – well this is mine ...

Replacing this Subaru was extremely difficult, it’s a special car and to replace it I had to get something equally special – that automatically ruled out most cars on the road – I have no interest in modern vehicles and similar sporting models from Subaru were also ruled out as I could not justify the performance increase over this car Vs the extra purchase price..

I was honing in on a V8 Jaguar – particularly the 4. 2 engine and after much research I finally identified a limited edition XKRS which is hardly ever seen for sale and when one appeared last December there was only every going to be one outcome after eying up such a motor for over a year – its also probably a mid-life crisis thing - ultimately that led me to this surprising situation of selling this Subaru - I cannot maintain two vehicles and do not have the space.

This Subaru is in fantastic condition and despite is milage it runs like a sewing machine – drive this and you will think it’s on 50k Miles – this engine eats up miles and MOTs and chews them out.
Only a few things have been replaced outside of regular servicing – wheel hubs, Steering bush, CV Boots, Sticky calipers and a reverse switch. Everything is documented – every invoice and repair – every MOT and anything done to the car including annual four-wheel hunter alignments. Service is currently up to date, all the o2 sensors were recently done – it just needs oil in a few months.

People who are familiar with the SpecB will know this model is fully kitted out with Electric Windows, Heated Front Screen, Heated Power Folding Mirrors (that operate with the remote), Heated Electric Leather seats with memory on the drivers side, DVD Navigation Sound System with bluetooth, HID lights, Bilstein Struts, Rear LSD - 6 Speed Subaru transmission with torque bias 50/ 50, Dual Climate Control - ice cold.

Modifications include – Rare STI rear spoiler, HEL Braided Lines, Brembo Pads all round, Pipercross panel filter, Powerflow SS catback exhaust, updated Sigma S30 alarm / immobiliser, Samco silicon intake Hose, ECU is mapped for 99RON fuel in S# (you will find out soon enough.) – Uprated poly bushes – front with Anti Lift, 6 Speed box has uprated bushes to prevent the floppy movement plus billetworkz reverse lockout fitted.

Anyone who drives this, I am pretty sure they will want to take it home and I doubt you will find a car like this again in this condition

In a world of boring autonomous cars with no soul this goes back to when cars were made to be enjoyed and you can be sure that is what will happen each time you drive this

When I got rid of a terrible CL55 AMG all them years ago and took this for a drive around the back roads of Camberley, I was smitten - you feel that way every time you drive this car - it’s an occasion itself – driver orientated and mechanical and easy to look after and has the best tranmission Subaru ever made - cars like this sadly are not made anymore and need to be preserved.

Its easily the best ever car I owned and I have been driving for 2 decades and it took a very special Jaguar XKRS to move on – I have had my fun with this Subaru and this needs a new custodian who will look after it as well as I have done over the last 8 years.
